Lacrosse Preview- April 24
We start this week’s preview in Chestertown. It will be #5 Salisbury visiting Washington College in the annual “War On The Shore.” Salisbury has rebounded from their mid season struggles. They have avenged two of their three losses in their last two games. They won their 15th straight CAC title with a win over Stevenson on Sunday. Washington College has lost 2 games in a row and 4 of their last 5. They need to get back on track if they are going to win the Centennial Conference tournament and earn a NCAA bid. I like Salisbury in this game by at least 6 goals. The game starts at 1pm and since the weather will be good a huge crowd will be there.
In division one, Maryland has a must win game tonight in the ACC Tournament. The Terps play North Carolina at 5pm in Chapel Hill North Carolina. The Terps need a win to lock up a NCAA bid. The other semifinal is Duke vs. Virginia at 7:30 and the winners play Sunday on Comcast Sportsnet at 3:30 for the championship. Navy also faces a must win situation in the Patriot League Tournament. The Mids open with Colgate at 5:45 tonight on CBS College Sports. The other semifinal is Army vs. Bucknell who is hosting the tournament as the regular season winner. That game started at 3:00 also on CBS College Sports. The winners play Sunday at 3pm on the same channel with an automatic NCAA bid on the line. In other action UMBC hosts Vermont tomorrow. With a win UMBC wins the America East regular season and will host the tournament. This game starts at 1pm on Ch. 2 and ESPNU. Towson lost 11-10 to Johns Hopkins in double overtime on Wednesday night in front of 3,509 people. Brian Christopher scored the winning goal with 1.2 seconds left. It was his third of the game. Towson will look to rebound when they travel to Penn for a 2pm game on Sunday. Johns Hopkins is off until a trip to Mount Saint Mary’s on Monday. Hobart travels to Loyola for 1pm faceoff. The school’s web sites have the radio information.
I will recap on Monday,
